Dr. Monica Dorvil-Bello is the Director of Medical Weight Loss and Nutritional Services at MIB Surgery. She is an Internal Medicine doctor specializing in Obesity Medicine. As an internist, she was always intrigued about the impact that food has on a patient’s health. With the steady rise in obesity rates and medical problems related to excess weight, it becomes very important to have expert advice for weight loss. Doctor Monica Bello was raised in New York. She obtained her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Instituto Tecnologico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) in 2009. She then spent a year performing benchmark medical research at the NYU Langone’s Department of Surgery Laboratory, primarily focused on diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, immunologic regulation of liver processes and pancreatic disease including the effects of food and medication consumption on health. She has been named co-author and has published several peer-reviewed articles in the medical literature about gastrointestinal diseases.
